Australian Retirement Investment Visa closes to New Applicants (Subclass 405)

Legislative Instrument - F2018L00674 - Migration Amendment (Investor Retirement Visa) Regulations 2018 has been registered today, 30 May 2018.

As announced in the Australian 2018-19 Federal Budget speech, the Class UY, Subclass 405 Australian Retirement Investor visa is closing.

Applications made on or after 1 June 2018 for Retirement Investor visas will only be accepted from existing Class UY, Subclass 405 visa holders.

Existing visa holders will be able to renew their visas, but the class is closed to new applicants from tomorrow, from 1 June 2018.

The Instrument is now in force.
