Parent Visa Subclass 103

 

The Parent Visa Subclass 103 is a permanent visa that allows a parent of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen move to Australia.

 

Waiting times for the Parent Visa Subclass 103 of up to 30 years may apply to processing of this visa. Applicants do not qualify for a Bridging Visa.  

 

The Visa Application Fees for this visa are significantly less than most other Parent visa options however this may need to be balanced against the limitations of this visa.

Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa Subclass 173 

 

The Contributory Parent Temporary Visa Subclass 173  permits a parent to live in Australia for two years and is generally used as a pathway to the Permanent Contributory Parent Visa Subclass 143. This allows for the cost of the permanent visa to be spread over the two applications.

 

Applicants must be “sponsored” and the sponsor must have resided in Australia for at least 2 years. Applicants must also pass the “Balance of Family” test, which requires that they have more children living permanently in Australia than in any other country.

Contributory Parent Visa Subclass 143

 

The Contributory Parent Visa Subclass 143 is a permanent Australian visa.

​

Applicants (except for the Retirement Pathway) must :

​

  • be sponsored by an eligible child who is a  settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand Citizen.

  • meet the balance of family test, &

  • provide an assurance of support

  • must be outside Australia at the time of decision.

​

Visa Application Charges for each applicant are circa AUD$48K (plus the assurance of support).

Sponsored Parent (Temporary) Visa Subclass 870 

 

There must first be an approved Parent Sponsor before an application can be made for the Sponsored Parent Temporary Visa Subclass 870 and the applicant must be the parent, step-parent or parent-in-law of the sponsor.

​

The Balance of Family Test and/or Assurance of Support do not apply to this visa.

​

Applications for this visa can be made for terms of either 3 or 5 years and will permit you to reapply up to a cumulative maximum term of ten years (criteria apply) 

​

​

Sponsorship approval is provided via a separate application process and permits applications to be made for the Sponsored Parent Temporary Visa Subclass 870 for a period of 6 months from grant.

Aged Parent Visa Subclass 804

 

The Aged Parent Visa Subclass 804 is a permanent visa that allows a parent of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen move to Australia.

 

To apply for the Aged Parent Visa Subclass 804, you must be old enough to be eligible to receive the aged pension in Australia.

 

Waiting times for the Aged Parent Visa Subclass 804 are significant for this visa. Applicants may, however qualify for a Bridging Visa.  

 

The Visa Application Fees for this visa are significantly less than most other Parent visa options

The Contributory Parent Visa Subclass 143 is a permanent Australian visa.

  • be sponsored by an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand Citizen.

  • meet the balance of family test, &

  • provide an assurance of support
